Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Vault, a private photo and video app by PetraLabs (“we”). By installing or using the app, you agree to them.

1. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Vault on devices you own or control, for lawful personal use.

2. Your responsibilities

• Keep your PIN and unlock codes secret. You are responsible for activity under your account.
• Only store content you have the right to keep.
• If you self-host the sync server, you are responsible for its security and operation.

3. Loss of access is permanent

Your PIN derives your encryption key and is never stored or sent to us. If you forget your PIN, your data cannot be recovered by you or by us. This is an intentional security property, not a defect.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use Vault to store or distribute unlawful content, or to violate the rights of others. We may suspend sync accounts that abuse the service or its infrastructure.

5. No warranty

The app and sync service are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that data will always be available.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PetraLabs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the app.

7. Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete sync account. We may terminate access for breach of these terms.

8. Changes & contact
